Those interested in obtaining close presidential proximity and paying a pretty price for it will be elated to hear that a posh Palm Beach, FL, home owned by President Donald Trump‘s Trump Organization—and located directly adjacent to his Mar-a-Lago estate—has been put up for rent.

However, those seeking a budget-friendly escape in the Sunshine State need not apply because the asking price for the picturesque property sits at a staggering $122,500 a month, or $1.47 million a year.

The four-bedroom home, which sits on over half an acre, is located on Woodbridge Road, one of Palm Beach’s most prestigious residential streets, and backs right up to the presidential estate, with a lush, green hedge dividing them.

The backyard pool area overlooks Mar-a-Lago’s grand front formal entrance and the front driveway to the club, and features iconic views of the famous tower. Imagine sharing the same sun rays with the most talked about and powerful people in the world, while lazily lounging poolside.

Trump himself purchased the home for $700,000 more than 30 years ago, but has since transferred ownership to the Trump Organization, which is now run by his sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump.

“A rare and historic leasing opportunity in the Estate Section of coveted Palm Beach island, this renovated four-bedroom residence sits directly adjacent to the exclusive Mar-a-Lago Club, placing it at the very center of one of Palm Beach’s most sought-after and recognizable enclaves,” the listing crows.

But the property’s ties to Mar-a-Lago extend well beyond its proximity to the venue.

In fact, a range of VIPs affiliated with the club and the Trump family have stayed in this very property. And it couldn’t be more convenient for them; members of the club, if they rent the property, can actually walk directly from their backyard into the club via its spa entrance.

But potential buyers shouldn’t get too excited yet about becoming members as soon as they move in.

There are currently extremely long waitlists to join Mar-a-Lago, and once someone does get to the front of the line, they face a very steep cost to make their status official.

According to multiple reports, membership costs for the Mar-a-Lago Club and its sister site, the Trump International Golf Club, run at about $3 million, which include initiation fees, dues, and taxes.

But at least residents of the home will be living in luxury while they wait. The four-bedroom, four-bathroom single-story home was built in 1974 and has been recently remodeled.

It now contains 4,072 of living space, following the recent renovations where the sunroom was enclosed and air conditioned. In addition, there’s a two-car garage.

Renters will also enjoy deeded private beach access, via a short walkway roughly 15 yards from the home’s front door. You never know which world leader (or hunky security guard) may be retrieving that Frisbee you overthrew.

The interior has been updated to the standards the Trump Organization is famous for—now featuring refined finishes including mahogany wood floors and Arabescato marble, a premium Italian natural stone quarried in the Apuan Alps near Carrara, Italy.

Most rooms have been decorated in relaxing shades of beachy blue, white, and sand, with notable, marine blue Jack-and-Jill bath and dedicated office.

The open great room contains a proper dining room space, living room, and sitting room and opens up to a bright, white, and light kitchen, with a marble dining and prep island and elegant brass hardware. Custom white cabinetry abounds.

An inviting sunroom, with floor to ceiling sliders and windows, provides an indoor/outdoor vibe, accented by views of the sparkling pool and spa. It stretches across the back of the house and opens to the great room, allowing in plenty of natural sunlight to illuminate all the public rooms.

Among the four en-suite private bedrooms are a spacious and elegant primary suite with a draped and canopied four-post bed and an in-law or staff suite.

One thing is certain, if you’re security minded, you’ll be as snug as a bug in a rug in this property. Well inside Trump’s security zone, the property enjoys the many measures put in place to guard the area surrounding Mar-a-Lago, which ramp up even further when the president is in residence at the resort.

The Trump security zone runs north from the club for seven blocks, or about half a mile, to South County Road—and whenever the president or his family are in town, the road is open only to property owners or their authorized representatives or workers.

Walking routes between homes within this security zone and Mar-a-Lago cannot even be mapped on Google because of the rigorous restrictions.

Anyone who violates the security zone can be penalized by a civil fine of more than $88,000, and/or a criminal sentence of up to 12 years in jail and $10,000 fine.

However, with such strict safety measures come some inconveniences: Traffic is regularly rerouted in the area, while airspace is always restricted over the club. That restriction zone expands with temporary flight restricts whenever the president is in residence at his Florida retreat.

“No person may operate an aircraft over or in the vicinity of any area to be visited or traveled by the president, the vice president, or other public figures contrary to the restrictions established by the FAA and published in a NOTAM,” the FAA previously told NBC Miami.

There are even restricted areas on the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean, which are enforced by the Coast Guard.

Some might consider all that security a major hassle, but those who can afford $1.4 million in rent may consider living in what could be one of the safest neighborhoods in the world to be a blessing.

Regardless of the security issues, there’s the convenience of living a mere 10 minutes from Palm Beach International Airport via the newly renamed President Donald J Trump Boulevard and being a five minute drive from renowned Worth Avenue and the town of Palm Beach, where some of the world’s finest elite restaurants and upscale shops can found.

Margit Brandt of Premier Estate Properties has the listing.
